Tania - It’s Getting Hot
My 7th shoot with Tania took place in her new London flat. I hadn’t been there before so I didn’t know what to expect. Also, it was one of the hottest days of the year with temperatures over 30ºC. The flat turned out to be small with a skylight above the living room. That was a cause for concern for me as I wanted to block out all external light. This is because I had planned to do some bodyscapes which require a dark room so I could use a modelling light to give me a good idea of how the shot would look before taking it. Once I’d stopped the lens down to f11 the intrusive light was less of an issue. It did mean though that I had to take a shot and look at it each time. It was slow but we got there.
After doing bodyscapes Tania had the idea of pouring candle wax on herself. She has a habit of suggesting things like this during a shoot! I don’t mind as it’s fun to try different things. It did kind of work but the wax left marks on her skin. After that she was standing under the skylight and I thought how good the light was there so she posed a few times while I clicked away. Time was against me now so to finish we shot some natural light portraits by the window and the image above is one of my favourites.
