Kayla - The Hotel Room

At the start of 2023 I was contacted on Instagram by Iranian fitness model, Kayla. She wanted to shoot with me after seeing my work with Laetitia. I contacted Colin, who ran Big Shot Studio only to be told that he had closed down in November 2022. What was I to do? At first I looked for another studio locally and was in the process of booking a day there but Kayla was not happy with travelling so early in the day. I then thought we could try doing the shoot in her hotel room in Chelsea, London. I had recently bought a Godox studio light so was well-equipped for any location.

I arrived at the hotel and after a short time I had set up the light and closed the curtains. Kayla was very keen to do some bodyscapes as she had done very little of that prior to our meet. Before the shoot I had prepared a selection of images from the web of different bodyscape poses to try. We had a great time working on each pose to get it right. The Godox light had a modelling lamp on it which enable me to see how the light was before taking the shot. It was so much easier than using a speedlight. Later on we took some shots by the window, which is shown in the image above. I really enjoyed our shoot.
