Xenia - We Meet At Last

Xenia was a model I had booked a session with a few years before this. It was cancelled due to very cold weather and since then I was looking for an opportunity to shoot with her. She was originally based in Oxford but then moved up to Sheffield so for me that was too far as I’m based in Buckinghamshire. We kept in touch on Instagram and she published an upcoming shoot in Walsall at Aatish Studio. I thought about it and reckoned it was feasible so I contacted her and set it up.

I arrived and it was good to meet her finally. This was a shoot that in hindsight I should have prepared for better. I turned up with a load of outfits and no plan for what we were going to shoot. It was difficult anyway because I hadn’t been to the studio before and didn’t know the people I was meeting. The studio actually was part of the house that Aatish lived in. He had a few rooms set aside for shooting. This experience really highlighted how much I needed to learn. However, I still came away with some great images and this is largely down to Xenia. She obviously deals with many different types of photographer from professional to novice and is well used to posing without instruction.
